The INTERREG V BIOVAL project aims to strengthen the competitiveness and attractiveness of the Greater Region of which the specific objective is to foster the innovation capacities of economic players serving the competitiveness of the Greater Region.
The theme of this project is to develop a cross-border sector for the recovery of brewers’ spent grains (co-produced by breweries) in the form of products with high added value.
Cross-border collaboration, thanks to the pooling of skills and complementary resources of partners, will also aim to maximize the impact of the BIOVAL project for manufacturers throughout the Greater Region. The exchange and sharing of specific knowledge and good practices will facilitate the advancement of research for the benefit of the development of new products with high added value.
Cross-border applied research actions, but also awareness-raising, dissemination, accompaniment and support, which will be carried out within the framework of the BIOVAL project will aim to promote collaboration between universities, research centers and companies in the area to stimulate research and innovation and achieve a result of technology transfer in industry on both sides of the borders.
All of the objectives of the BIOVAL project will therefore aim both to foster the innovation capacities of economic actors serving the competitiveness of the Greater Region but will also contribute to the specific objectives linked to the strengthening of cross-border cooperation in the field of research and development with a view to making the Greater Region a territory of excellence and strengthening the presence of SMEs in the Greater Region on international markets.
Finally, the green chemistry processes targeted for transformation will help to reduce the environmental impact in the context of the economic and territorial development of the Greater Region, which is another important specific objective of the Interreg V Greater Region program.
